Light is our responsibility

Light has a tremendous effect on us humans. It allows us to see and to feel. 80 % of what we perceive is perceived through our eyes and is therefore influenced by light.

Advantages

  • Individual Light Colours
The unique features of our Human Centric Lighting systems are that they are able to control lighting colour temperatures, colours and intensity individually while maintaining excellent colour rendering. In this way, they are able to provide perfect illumination for any application. Moreover, as opposed to conventional light sources, they need no colour filters, giving this LED technology added efficiency advantages over “traditional” illumination systems.

  • Economical and Energy Efficient
LEDs require only a fraction of the energy used by conventional light sources. This means energy savings of up to 85 % and amortization times of less than one year. The fact that LEDs generate less heat also reduces the air-conditioning power consumption required for cooling. This environmentally-friendly utilization of resources results in considerable savings in electrical energy. The long service lives of our Human Centric Lighting systems makes them practically maintenance-free.
  • Intelligent Lighting Management
Our innovative lighting management systems ensure that the right light is available in the right amount at the right time and at the right place.  Our high-quality, easy-to-use control systems allow flexible adjustment of individual, variable lighting concepts in which colour temperatures, light colours or daylight-dependent illumination scenarios can be combined.

Flyback and buck-boost converters ensure practically loss-free and flexible LED operation, i. e. the system can adapt to a changing number of LEDs. This has the advantage that unnecessary voltage drops leading to  power loss and heat dissipation can be reduced.

  • Customised Firmware
Intelligent solutions allow accurate control of colour temperature and light intensity. That is why Embedded System Software Solutions (Firmware) for equipment controls are an essential part of our service portfolio, too.
  • Universal Controlling
The lighting management systems can be controlled in several ways:
        •    1-10V control technology
        •    DMX
        •    DALI DT8
        •    ZigBee Standard

These controls can be used to vary colour temperature and intensity as well as to pre-set individual, time-dependent colour and colour temperature variations and to run these automatically as well.

Applications of Human Centric Lighting

  • The right light for concentration and motivation

Besides meeting essential basic standards, office lighting should ideally contribute to relaxed working conditions and a feeling of well-being as a key to improved motivation among employees. Light plays a decisive role in this context. Adapting lighting to match the human biorhythm can increase productivity by around 20 % and reduce error rates by as much as 30 %. White light with a slight blue tinge activates the senses during working hours, just like a natural daylight cycle, and thus has a positive influence on concentration. Comforting warm white light during breaks and in the evenings encourages relaxation and assists regeneration.

Advantages of Human Centric Lighting for offices and workplaces
    • Positive ergonomic effects
    • Biorhythm-friendly
    • Easy to control
    • Low maintenance requirements
    • Low energy consumption

  • Lighting creates atmosphere and evokes emotional images

The well-targeted use of lighting with dynamic colour variation options allows creation of a wide variety of spatial effects, evoking, for example, the impression of open-hearth fires, moonlight or a sunset. Such flexibility is a great advantage for catering and hospitality spaces, as the same room can be illuminated to suit different events and times of day. An atmosphere that fosters a feeling of well-being is also important for hotel rooms, where the correct lighting can provide a special cosy ambience which leaves a lasting impression on guests and encourages them to return.

Advantages of Human Centric Lighting in hotels, restaurants and spas
    • Helps visitors feel comfortable
    • Makes rooms look more elegant
    • Atmospheres and lighting quality can be controlled individually
    • Easy to control
    • Low energy consumption
    • Low maintenance requirements
    • Reduced heat emission

  • A focus on health

Many biological processes are controlled by the human biorhythm, which affects the liberation of various hormones by our body and the relationship of wake and sleep cycles to the time of day. Light supports biorhythmic effects and it has been proved that light is the main influence on our “biological clock”. In rooms with little ambient daylight or no access to natural light at all, Human Centric Lighting can be used to mimic daylight through the course of the day. Well-adapted use of LED solutions with dynamic colour control also assists the mental regeneration of staff in the health care, nursing and geriatric care sectors.

Advantages of Human Centric Lighting in the health care sector
    • Helps promote a feeling of well-being
    • Supports natural biorhythm
    • Lighting control in relation to natural daylight

  • Proper presentation adds value

Appropriate lighting has an inspirational effect and can help to boost sales. Exhibits or products are effectively showcased and their subjective value is increased by means of the right illumination. Controlled individually to match the shop windows or sales floor, Human Centric Lighting can provide thematically harmonized lighting. They make products appear in a new light and create a unique shopping atmosphere, for example cold white lighting for blue shoes, warm white lighting for orange garments, exactly the right colour for silver jewellery or UV/IR-free lighting to protect delicate items on show at a museum.

Advantages of Human Centric Lighting for shops and displays
    • Different light to suit each individual product
    • Absence of ultraviolet and infra-red radiation components
    • Low energy consumption, easy on resources
    • Reduced heat emission

  • Light for revitalisation and recreation

Domestic lighting in your own four walls is one of the most important lighting requirements of all. This is where you relax and recuperate. The key maxim here is that your personal tastes have to be served, and your flexibility, health and efficiency requirements have to be met. With Human Centric Lighting, you can create an oasis of relaxation with beneficial health effects right in your own home. In dinette kitchens, after providing bright lighting for cooking activities they can be subsequently adjusted to create a romantic candlelight atmosphere for dinner for two.

Advantages of Human Centric Lighting for home and relaxation
    • Helps promote a feeling of well-being
    • Supports natural biorhythm
    • Makes rooms look more elegant
    • Lighting quality and illumination atmosphere can be adjusted individually
